FedEx Corp. has launched a new four-days-a-week 767 freighter flight between Dublin and its Indianapolis hub, the second largest in its network after Memphis.
It says the new route will allow goods from Dublin to bypass congested coastal gateways and arrive at their destination one day faster. It also provides US shippers with a link to Europe’s high-tech, healthcare, and transportation centers.
The Indianapolis hub recently opened a 16,000sq ft cold-chain facility offering three temperature zones ranging from -25°C (- 13°F) to +25°C (77°F), plus a re-icing room.
Chief operating officer Richard Smith, said: “This flight highlights the success of our Tricolor international network redesign strategy in strengthening our capabilities in the global air freight market. By adding this route, US-based customers can reduce delivery times to one of Europe’s key innovation hubs, where industries like healthcare, electronics, and aerospace are experiencing significant growth. Our network, augmented by advanced digital tools, is designed to support customers in these expanding sectors.”
Regional president of FedEx Europe, Wouter Roels, added: “Ireland is a vibrant export market, with around 68% of total goods exported in early 2025 going into the US – with industries like pharmaceuticals and medical equipment leading the way. The addition of a direct flight between Dublin and Indianapolis marks a proud milestone for FedEx, connecting businesses across key industries with US growth markets.”
