Pharmaceutical product transport by LATAM Cargo between Europe and Brazil grew 150% from January to July 2026 compared to the same period last year, said the South American carrier. This was mainly driven by an increase in the transport of GLP-1-based medications, used in treatments for type 2 diabeteswhich accounted for approximately 15% of the total volume transported.
LATAM Cargo offers solutions including temperature monitoring, climate-controlled rooms, cargo segregation, thermal blankets and reduced ramp exposure time. For shipments transported in active containers, protocols include power supply connection, periodic monitoring and follow-up of battery and temperature levels.
It also operates s CEIV-certified Pharma Hub in Miami, which offers chambers across different temperature ranges and dedicated space for loading and storing active pharmaceutical containers.
New passenger routes from Brussels and Amsterdam to São Paulo added capacity to the network, alongside the freighter service between Brussels and São José dos Campos.
