The Airforwarders Association (AfA) has cautiously welcomed the reported peace deal between the US and Iran, saying it could help ease pressure on consumers and businesses.
But it warns that much could still change before the memorandum of understanding is due to be signed on Friday June 19th, and the air freight industry now needs clarity on how the Strait of Hormuz will reopen and free passage will be enforced.
AfA says that forwarders have faced sustained disruption and uncertainty from government shutdowns, tariffs, and conflict in the Middle East. It will be monitoring events closely and continue to work with legislators, regulators, and industry partners help keep global trade moving.
